Computer Information Systems Research and Technology Centre (CISRTC)

Computer systems are widely used in every field today. The Computer Information Systems Research and Technology Centre (BESATEM) was established in order to carry out studies, research, consultancy and training in this field.

The Computer Information Systems Research and Technology Centre is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary technical research centre established within Near East University.

Our centre has undertaken all kinds of studies and research in the field of computer informatics. Through its expert staff, our centre follows the latest developments in the field of informatics and contributes to these developments.

The Computer Information Systems Centre provides technical consultancy services to public and private institutions on computers and informatics. In this context, our centre organizes courses for various institutions and helps to make the best use of existing computer systems.

Our centre constantly renews itself by reviewing the most up-to-date articles in the field of information systems, and publishes the innovations produced from its research in articles in internationally respected journals.

Our expert staff in our centre participate in international conferences and symposiums, present articles and cooperate with other experts in this field. In this way, our research topics are also increasing thanks to our staff who are continually developing and expanding.

Aim and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the Near East University Computer Information Systems Research and Technology Centre are as follows:

  • To conduct research on computer information systems and application areas,
  • To publish scientific articles in world-renowned journals in the fields of computer information systems,
  • Participating in conferences and symposiums on computer and information systems nationally and internationally and/or presenting articles in these conferences and symposiums,
  • Organizing conferences and symposiums nationally and international in computer and information systems and related interdisciplinary fields,
  • Organizing courses on computer and information systems education,
  • To cooperate with other domestic and foreign institutions related to computer and information systems and to prepare joint projects,
  • Contributing to the formation of computer and information systems standards,
  • Providing consultancy to public and private sector institutions in the fields of computer and information systems.

The Near East University Computer Information Systems Research and Technology Centre aims to find effective solutions to all kinds of problems related to computer systems in public, state and private institutions in the light of universal values, to provide education in the field of information systems in universities and other educational institutions, to participate in conferences and symposiums on these issues and has undertaken to provide all kinds of consultancy services in the field of information systems.

3 May 2016 - Informatics and Health was discussed
"Informatics and Health" was discussed within the scope of "Information Activities" organized in cooperation with the Computer Informatics Department and the Information Systems and Technologies Research Centre affiliated to the Centre of Excellence.

4 April 2016 - Near East University and Informatics Association signed a Cooperation Protocol
Near East University cooperates with the industry and the academic community to work together. A cooperation protocol was signed between the NEU Computer Informatics Department and the TRNC Informatics Association.

19 June 2016 - Lambert Academic Publishing published English Book from NEU Computer Informatics Department.
The book "SOFTWARE STANDARDS IN DEVELOPING VIRTUAL LABORATORIES: For Engineering Education", co-written by Near East University Computer Informatics Department Head Prof Dr Nadire Çavuş and department lecturer Sahar Shokouhi Tabrizi, has been published in English in Germany.

17 March 2016 -Scientific Success of the Near East University, Computer Informatics Department Master's Program
The book "Cloud Computing & Its Adoption: Firm Adoptation", written by Prof Dr Nadire Çavuş, Head of Computer Informatics Department at Near East University, with his graduate student Mustafa Asaad Alani within the scope of scientific studies, was published in English by Lap Lambert Academic Publishing in Germany.

23 January 2016 - Prof.Dr. Doğan İbrahim's Chipkit Technical Book was Published by Newness Publishing.
The new technical book titled PIC32 Microcontrollers and the Digilent chipKIT: Introductory to Advanced projects by Prof Dr Doğan İbrahim, a faculty member of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Computer Informatics, has been published in English by Newness publishing house.

24 November 2016 - A New Achievement of the Near East University Computer Informatics Department
Near East University, Computer Informatics Department Head Prof Dr Nadire Çavuş's book "Mobile Technologies & English Language (Mobile Technologies and English)", co-written with master's student Raghad Baker Sadiqi, was published in English at Scholars Press Publishing House.

21 November 2014 - prof. Dr. Doğan İbrahim's New Technical Book on "Raspberry Pi" Has Been Published
Raspberry Pi Advanced Programming, a new technical book written at Master and Doctorate level, by Near East University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Informatics Systems lecturer Prof Dr Doğan İbrahim on Raspberry Pi computer has been published by Elektor publishing house of the Netherlands.

24 October 2014- The Embargoes Implemented on the TRNC Are Breaking With Science: NEU Takes the Lead
Near East University continues to contribute to world science day by day. Near East University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Head of Computer Informatics Department Prof Dr Nadire Çavuş and Computer and Instructional Technologies Education faculty member Dr. Erinç Erçağ made another contribution to science.

1 June 2014 - Contribution to science from TRNC continues
Near East University (NEU) Computer Informatics Department Head Prof Dr Nadire Çavuş's article titled "Selecting a Learning Management System (LMS) in Developing Countries: Instructors' Evaluation" was published in the Interactive Learning Environment, one of the most prestigious journals in the world and can be searched in the Social Sciences Index (SSCI).

28 February 2014 - Prof.Dr. Doğan İbrahim’is Book is Published by World Renown Newness Publishers
The new technical book "Advanced PIC Microcontroller Projects in C: Basic to Advanced" by Prof Dr Doğan İbrahim from the Department of Computer Informatics at Near East University has been published.

15 June 2014 - Shining Star of Near East University: Department of Computer Informatics
The book "Learning Management Systems", written by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nadire Çavuş, Head of the Department of Computer Informatics at Near East University, together with her master's student Zaid Dawad Al-Rustom, was published in English in Germany. Lambert Academic Publishing House is one of the world-renowned publishing houses in academic book publishing, and the publishing house, which is known to be very meticulous in the selection of books to be printed, makes a significant contribution to the literature by printing a certain number of scientific books.

Near East University Computer Informatics Department Head Prof Dr Nadire Çavuş and master's student Abdullah Younus' new book "Mobile Devices and Mobile Applications" was recently published in Germany.

6 November 2013 - prof. Dr. Doğan İbrahim's New Book on 32 Bit Processors Has Been Released
Near East University (NEU) Computer Informatics Systems (CIS) Lecturer Prof Dr Doğan İbrahim's new book on 32-bit microprocessors and embedded electronic system design (Designing Embedded Systems With 32-Bit PIC Microcontrollers and MikroC) has been reported to be published.

Near East University (NEU), Computer Informatics Department faculty members held a panel with the main theme "Safe Internet Use" within the framework of the events held at the 20 July Science High School due to the "Internet Week".

5 June 2012 - prof. Dr. Doğan İbrahim's Book is now available on Kindle
The book titled 'Designing Embedded Systems with 32-Bit Microcontrollers and microC' (embedded system design with 32-bit Microcontrollers and microC) by Prof Dr Doğan İbrahim from the Department of Computer Informatics at Near East University and published by Elsevier is very popular and is intended for easier access to readers. It was converted to electronic media and made compatible with the KINDLE reader.

5 June 2012 - Near East University updated its system and office software on July 20.
