Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat İ.Günsel, hosted the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Friendship Club, which is at the helm of Dzhumabekov Dastanbek Artisbekovich, who are on the island to make connections…

It was revealed that Founding Rector of Near East University Dr.Suat İ.Günsel had expressed to be honoured by hosting the members of Parliament from Kirghizstan on Near East University campus; adding that seeing guests from ancestor domain was rather meaningful for us Turkish Cypriots as we were trying to put down roots on the island.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, a week ago, the Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İ.Günsel had made significant connections in; signing very important protocols to establish bonds with parties in Kirghizstan. In the regard, Dr. Suat İ.Günsel made a statement that universities should be perceived as ‘instruments’ which enable communities to unite brining past, current and future together.

Furthermore, Dr.Günsel, expressed that there were students from Kirghizstan studying at Near East University and that they hoped to see even a greater number of students who choose to take up studies at universities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Artisbekovich: “There will be further cooperation!”

Also making a statement on the matter, Head of Kirghizstan Parliament TRNC Friendship Club, Dastanbek Artisbekovich, expressed that they viewed the Turkish Cypriots as individuals from same brotherhood and that they were rather happy to be hosted on the Near East University campus.

Following their tour around the campus, Artisbekovich stated amazement regarding the Super Computer, NEU Grand Library, NEU Hospital and NEU Automobile Museum and they wished to further make future cooperation with the Near East University.

Subsequently, Artisbekovich presented a special gift to Founding Rector of Near East University from Kirghizstan. In return, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İ. Günsel presented gifts of Lefkara lacework from Cyprus. It was pointed out that NEU Kirghizstan Representative Tayseer Al Shanableh, Vice Rectors of NEU Prof. Dr. Fahreddin Sadıkoğlu and Prof. Dr. Şenol Bektaş assisted the visiting committee.
