The income obtained from the “Cinema Day” event held at the Near East University Grand Library with the participation of Near East College students was donated to Çağlayan Children’s Home

The “Cinema Day” event, organized in cooperation with the Near East University Faculty of Communication, Near East University Grand Library and Near East College, was held with great interest by Near East College students.

In the “Cinema Day” event, which was held as a social responsibility project and organized for Near East College secondary school students, students enjoyed popcorn and movies with a participation fee of 50 TL. Approximately 15 thousand liras of income obtained during the event was delivered to the Social Services Department Directorate of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to be donated to Çağlayan Children’s Home.

The event aimed that students gain social responsibility awareness while having an enjoyable time.

Near East College Deputy Principal Pınar Hıncal said, “This social responsibility project we carried out together with our students and academics is an important event that reflects the values of our school.” Stating that the “Cinema Day” event was organized for the first time and that it will continue, Pınar Hıncal said “Our students’ active role in such events not only increases their social awareness but also strengthens their solidarity and support for each other. Such activities, blended with culture, art and spiritual values, will make positive contributions to the development of our students and society.”

Reminding that the Near East Enterprises Libraries are open not only to students but also to the public, with access to 4 million printed books and 1 billion digital resources, Near East University Grand Library Director and Near East University Faculty of Communication Deputy Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Dolunay said, “Our libraries serve our people not only as places that preserve information, but also as important living centers that strengthen cultural and social ties.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dolunay emphasized that the Cinema Day event they hosted was important in this respect and thanked all the students who participated.
