Department of Automotive Engineering along with Research and Development (R&D) teams of the Near East University Innovation and Information Technologies Center has reached the final stage of producing TRNC’s first native automobile.

According to the press info released by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, information regarding the final stage of works towards manufacturing TRNC’s first native automobile, which will be the product of eight years lasting work, will be shared with media members through a press conference at the Near East University at 11:00 on Sunday; 9 October, 2016

The media members will be provided with detailed information concerned with the process, design, technical equipment and features of the automobile to be produced by the Near East University.

Touching upon the significance of producing a native automobile in TRNC, Near East University Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel underlined NEU’s commitment of exerting efforts towards launching a national trademark and paving the way for TRNC towards becoming a country that produces and develops technology. “At the press conference that will be held at 11:00 on Sunday, 9 October, 2016, we will provide the press members and the public with detailed information relevant to the final phase of the works towards manufacturing TRNC’s first native automobile, its design and technical features. Besides, we will share information regarding the automobile factory to be established. TRNC’s first native automobile will be the product of devoted efforts of NEU Department of Automotive Engineering and R&D teams of Innovation and Information Technologies Center. We aim at exporting mass production cars and contribute to our country’s economy by ensuring significant revenues. Thus, we will make our country’s name known as a car manufacturer country as well. Within NEU’s innovative perspective, we will continue to work with our devoted teams and spare no sacrifices to keep up with the rapid technological developments across the globe and open new horizons in our country. By utilizing from the latest technological developments, we will be exerting efforts towards generating products of better quality with higher technological features.
