She started her academic life in 1986 as a research assistant at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy. Later, in 1992, she worked at Marmara University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy. She continued her teaching position at Baylor College of Medicine in 1996. She returned to the department at Marmara University in 2000, left the department in 2001 and returned to the USA. She has been working at Near East University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy since 2015. She has been the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences since 2018.
