Near East University “Environment: Life and Sustainability” conference will start with participation of Prime Minister Ersin Tatar, Tourism and Environment Minister Ünal Üstel, Gönyeli Mayor Ahmet Benli and many guests on Monday, October 07, 2019 at 9.30 am at the Near East University Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Pink Hall.

According to press info released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, the conference titled “Environment: Life and Sustainability will begin with the opening speeches of Prime Minister Ersin Tatar, Tourism and Environment Minister Ünal Üstel, Gönyeli Mayor Ahmet Benli, Turkish World Engineers and Architects Union representative Recep Karamehmetoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Vice Rector of Near East University, and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

During the three-day conference (October 7-8-9), a total of 96 papers, 12 of which were invited, will be presented.

Prof.Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş; There is a great interest to the conference from the TRNC Universities. The fact that the papers presented at the conference will be published in prestigious journals of the world increases the importance of the conference.”

Prof. Dr. Gökçekuş stated that all over the world, especially in developing countries, much larger environmental problems are encountered, and due to the importance of the issue for our country, all sensitive and interested parties are expected to attend and contribute to the conference.

Finally, Professor Gökçekuş, who thanked everyone who contributed to the conference, said that they opened the door to new opportunities for cooperation as well as providing the opportunity to host scientists from reputable institutions and organizations in the TRNC's prominent educational institutions, and publishing their presentations in the respected journals of the world".
