The 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was celebrated in Nicosia with great enthusiasm at the ceremony area on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard. In the celebrations held with great pride and excitement, TRNC’s national and domestic car, GÜNSEL, took part in the official parade cortege with its colorful prototypes on the 40th anniversary of the Republic.

At the ceremony, which took place with intense participation, in addition to the state protocol of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz, Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Bekir Bozdağ, Chairman of the Republican People’s Party Özgür Özel, Chief of General Staff of the Republic of Turkey General Metin Gürak, Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Hulusi Akar, Re-Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan, New Azerbaijan Party Deputy Chairman Tahir Budakov, Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TÜRKPA) Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er and many others also attended. Following the speeches of the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz and the President Ersin Tatar, an official parade cortege was held.

GÜNSEL, the domestic car of Northern Cyprus, is in the Republic Cortege!
GÜNSEL, the national and local automobile of TRNC, greeted the public by taking part in the Republic cortege with 13 prototypes of its first model, B9. GÜNSEL, which entered the ceremony area with the announcement of “Our country’s domestic automobile, which is the product of the knowledge, experience and scientific production of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”, was welcomed with intense interest. It represented the entrepreneurship and creativity of the people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in a manner befitting the Republic. The ceremony was completed with the official parade held in honor of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the TRNC.

Our GÜNSEL, which is in the official parade today, is a national project that will shape the future of TRNC. Our struggles and sacrifices in the past formed the basis of our present independence. However, in order to make today and tomorrow stronger, progress and change are an inevitable reality. Shaping the future is possible with investments in science and technology. Projects based on R&D and new technologies increase a country’s competitiveness and support sustainable development. In this respect, GÜNSEL will play a key role in TRNC’s progress towards a stronger future.”

Stating that they are proud of the deep-rooted history of theTRNC, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said “We once again commemorate our leaders Dr. Küçük and Rauf Raif Denktaş with mercy and gratitude, and express our gratitude to our martyrs and veterans who are the symbols of our struggle for independence.
