Great Cooperation between the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Hospital and Tashkent Nature Park

The Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Hospital signed a cooperation protocol with the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center which is under the body of Tashkent Nature Park.
The Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Hospital signed a cooperation protocol with the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Prof. Dr. Ömer Memduh ESENDAL, Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman ERGENE, Vice Dean and the Chief Staff of the Animal Hospital, and Kemal BASAT, Director of Tashkent Nature Park, have signed the protocol on behalf of their parties. Yasemin BASAT, the spouse of the Tashkent Nature Park Director, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nazım KAŞOT, faculty member of NEU Atatürk Faculty of Education and Tashkent Nature Park Environmental Education Consultant, attended the signing ceremony as well.

Within the terms of the protocol, the parties would work cooperatively and exert efforts to protect the nature and wildlife. In this regard, this cooperation protocol is a gigantic step towards conserving the nature, wildlife and thereby the ecosystem.

ESENDAL: the first and only Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the island…..
Drawing attention to the rapid development of the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which began to accept students in the year of 2009, the faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ömer Memduh ESENDAL stated that the faculty was currently the first and only veterinary medicine faculty of the island that covered a long way in a short time and offered quality education beyond the standards set by national and international bodies. “In virtue of our quality education and our devotion to raising first class veterinarians, the NEU Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has become one of the most preferred faculties that capable to fill all its quotas and provide services for the country and country’s institutions and organizations” said he.

Tashkent Nature Park Director Kemal BASAT: Tashkent Nature Park is a rapidly growing and developing nonprofit organization….
“Tashkent Nature Park is a nonprofit organization which has been growing and developing rapidly since its establishment in 2016. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, which aims to provide treatment, care and rehabilitation for the sick, wounded and / or needy nature animals, has made a distinguished name with the support that it has provided for nature animals and the public awareness that it has raised on this issue since its establishment” noted he.

Touching upon the importance of the cooperation of the leading institutions that engaged in animal health, BASAT stated that they would realize much more significant achievements by working in cooperation with the Near East University, which is one of the leading institutions in this issue.

ERGENE: Cooperation will continue in an increasing manner….
Voicing his satisfaction with the cooperation protocol, Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman ERGENE, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Chief Staff of the Animal Hospital, stated that cooperation between the parties would continue to increase day by day. “Being the only Animal Hospital on the island of Cyprus, we will continue to conduct joint studies and projects together with all institutions serving across the country” said he.

Delivered information regarding Astrid, the sea turtle that had been treated and rehabilitated at the NEU Animal Hospital for about a year, ERGENE stated that they had handed over the turtle to Tashkent Nature Park and the turtle would continue its life there.
