Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Near East University accepted the delegation of Northern Cyprus Alumni Foundation Board. Prof. Dr. Şenol Bektaş, Vice Rector of NEU, was present at the reception.
According to a press info released by Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, Northern Cyprus Alumni Foundation Board which was established two months ago and headquartered in Ankara, announced that they are planning to gather the university graduates of North Cyprus universities in August in TRNC.
The Northern Cyprus Alumni Foundation Board stated that at the meeting called the “Grand Meeting”, 119 thousand university graduates and their families are expected to participate in the event of Grand Meeting and they paid a visit to Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Near East University, requesting support for the event.
Müjdat Çarhoğlu, expressing their opinions and feelings at the visit, said that they already have over 30 thousand members in social media groups, and told about the foundation aims and projects of the Foundation, and requested support from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Günsel.
Çarhoğlu said at the visit, “We first time conducted our first workshop in Istanbul in August and decided on the representatives of the universities. Now we have representatives from all universities from North Cyprus. The member who graduated from your university has prepared the regulations of the Foundation. At the moment, 424 members of the Foundation are working actively for the preparation of the event in North Cyprus.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Near East University, said at the visit “this foundation and event will definitely have a significant impact on the universities, graduates and on those who will graduate from North Cyprus universities. What you have achieved is a very difficult task and demands a lot of time to perform such kind of activities. I do congratulate you sincerely. As the Near East University, we will do our best for this event.”
Following the visit, the members of the Northern Cyprus Alumni Foundation Board presented a gift to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Günsel, to commemorate the meaning of the day.
