Turkish Artist Orhan Zafer's Solo Exhibition consisting of 20 Artworks and titled "Buffer Zone" and Kyrgyz Artist Baizak Alybayev's Solo Exhibition consisting of 22 Artworks and titled "View" exclusively held for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts was opened by the Former Minister of National Education and Culture, UBP Kyrenia MP Dr. Özdemir Berova.

According to the information given by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, the opening ceremony of the exhibition held at the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Medicine was attended by the Former Minister of National Education and Culture and UBP Kyrenia Deputy Dr. Özdemir Berova, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, vice-rectors, institute directors, deans, lecturers, artists and invitees.

At the opening of the exhibition, Vice-Rector of Near East University. Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Kyrgyz artist Baizak Alybayev, Turkish artist Zafer Orhan and Dr. Özdemir Berova, Former Minister of National Education and Culture and UBP Kyrenia Deputy, delivered a speech each.

Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ: “21 thousand artworks have been so far produced within the scope of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts…”
Making the opening speech of the exhibition, Near East University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ stated that 232 international exhibitions were held in 2019 within the scope of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, and 23 exhibitions, consisting of 715 artworks, 18 of which were solo and 5 of which were group, were opened in last year and 21 thousand works have been produced to date. Stating that the foundations of the museum were laid on August 9, 2018, the museum was established to provide freedom in creativity and bring together artists from many countries, and transferring their artworks to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art. Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ stated that the Museum will undertake an important selection, accumulation, protection and display functions on behalf of our country and promote it in the international platforms. Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ added that the 6-storey Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which has a 20,000 m2 closed area, will form a wide range in terms of style and form along with reflecting the artists' different periods. Pointing out that both Turkish painter Orhan Zafer and Kyrgyz artist Baizak Alybayev were deemed worthy of Silver Key Award, stated that the project of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts emerged as a result of the vision of Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel.

Kyrgyzstan artist Baizak Alybayev said in his opening remarks, “I am happy to see you at the opening of my solo exhibition. First of all, I would like to thank Dr. Suat Günsel for his invitation and for providing us with this beautiful opportunity. I present my endless gratitude and respect to you and your team for your support and interest, warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. ”

"I am honored that my colors will be included at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts"
Painting artist Orhan Zafer from Turkey said in his opening remarks that he is honored that his colors will be included at the collection of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts which will carry the artistic reflections of a great civilization that existed ever since the human history into the future.

Orhan Zafer expressed his greetings to the participants and contributors to his 10th solo exhibition, stating that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which he believes will be one of the biggest shrines of Turkish Culture and Art, will be proudly stand out in the world art history. Stating that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will host hundreds of artists with tens of thousands of artworks in order to bring together all the colors of the Turkic World, which surrounds the sky dome like a rainbow, Zafer said, “Those who will visit this blessed venue in future will see the heart of history, the eyes, the lands, the stones, the flags, the colors of red, blue, the influx, the motif of the carpet and the colors through the window of the hearts of the artists.

Dr. Özdemir Berova: “Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts plays an important role in combining art and culture..."
UBP Kyrenia MP, Former Minister of National Education and Culture Dr.. Özdemir Berova stated that Near East University is one of the leading universities of our country in the field of education and that a great energy was used for bringing in the artistic activities in the country and that these works have been followed with pride.

Dr. Berova; "I would like to express my happiness to be here with you, with the artists from our motherland Turkey and from our fatherland Kyrgyzstan. Here we have found an opportunity to start a nice day by laying our eyes on such beautiful artworks. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to our artists."

Stating that it is not easy to hold 260 exhibitions and collect 20 thousand artworks of art within the scope of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project, Berova said that this requires great dedication, work and organizational skills. Emphasizing that Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat Günsel's support of these activities with inexhaustible energy is very important, Dr. Berova also touched on the importance of investments in the field of art.

UBP Kyrenia MP, Former Minister of National Education and Culture Dr. Özdemir Berova said: “Art is one of the most important facts that enable people and countries around the world to unite each other with love. While I was in office at the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, I witnessed how the activities of art and cultural activities played a unifying role in those council halls. In this context, the presence of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which is such a source of pride in our country, and the place to unite the artists from various countries around the world, is a source of pride for TRNC. I would also like to thank the organizers of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which has contributed greatly to our country.

”Silver Key Honor Award was presented…"
After the speeches, Former Minister of National Education and Culture and UBP Kyrenia Deputy, Dr. Özdemir Berova presented the Silver Key Honor Award to Baizak Alybayev and Orhan Zafer. Then, two separate solo exhibitions were opened.
