Tourism Attack from NEU

For the year of 2016, Near East University has rolled up its sleeves to initiate activities covering particularly health, sports and education tourism at the international arena in order to increase domestic added value.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Office of NEU, the hotel-room-prices have considerably decreased in Antalya due to the aircraft crisis experienced with Russia. Upon the growing concerns that this decrease would affect North Cyprus tourism negatively, the Near East University has rolled up its sleeves to bring more tourists to North Cyprus and increase domestic added value by broadening its activities in international arena via alternative tourism options covering particularly health, sports and education tourism.

The Development of Alternative Tourism Types is Vital

Touching upon the vital role of the development of sustainable alternative tourism types particularly health tourism for our country, the member of Board of Directors of NEU Hospital and Tourism and Travel Services General Director Ahmet Savaşan stated that room prices were lowered in Turkey, particularly in Antalya in order to attract the interest of more native and international tourists and to make up reservation cancellations of Russian tourists due to the crisis experienced with Russia.

Full Support from Günsel for Country's Tourism

Touching upon the importance of steering the wheel towards sustainable alternative types of tourism in North Cyprus, Savaşan drew attention to the activities carried out in the country as well as in international area for years with the initiative of NEU Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel. "Considering the growing concerns due to the emerged crisis between Turkey and Russia, Near East University will broaden its activities at international platforms in 2016 to introduce our country's alternative tourism potential especially in the field of health, sports and education. Our aim is to promote more tourists to prefer North Cyprus by generating effective promotion and marketing strategies especially for health tourism as well as sports and education tourism. Alternative tourism types, especially health, sports and education tourism have a crucial role in creating domestic added value. North Cyprus has achieved a solid place in education and health tourism through the relations conducted at international platforms by the initiative of the Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel. In order to ensure the development of alternative tourism types and increase the domestic added value, Near East University will spare no sacrifices to promote educational, sports and health tourism potential of North Cyprus across the world" said he.

In his final remarks, Mr. Savaşan indicated that NEU Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel was dedicated to provide full support for the development of North Cyprus in tourism as in many fields and ensure preference of tourists by strengthening the image of North Cyprus as a solid tourism destination.
