FAI Lithuanian Open Paragliding Accuracy Championship (Trakai Open 2017) was held in Trakai on 16-19 February 2017. Many paraglide pilots from different countries including Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Great Britain, America, Turkey, Moldova and TRNC competed in FAI Lithuanian Open Paragliding Accuracy Championship. Leaving behind the British, American and Lithuanian pilots that are among top 25 in world ranking, our TRNC National Paragliding Team pilots have realized a great success and ranked the first and the second places in the championship.

Near East University sportsman Asst. Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl is the world's runner-up in paragliding

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, TRNC National Paragliding Team ranked the third place in team classification while in individual classification; Asst. Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl from the Near East University became the world's runner-up in FAI Lithuanian Open Paragliding Accuracy Championship.

We have achieved the third rank in the world's general classification as TRNC National Team, and the first and the second rank in individual classification

Our National Paragliding Team pilots have achieved ranking the third place in team classification and the first and second places in individual classification at the FAI Lithuanian Open Paragliding Accuracy Championship that took place at weather conditions of -10 °C on the frozen Trakai, Galvės Lake.

Near East University sportsman Umut Akçıl has taken place among the Top 100 in the World Ranking

Competing in TRNC National Paragliding Team, Asst. Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl from the Near East University has missed the first rank by few points and awarded by silver medal by ranking the second place in the championship and achieved to be among the Top 100 in the World and Europe Ranking.

The next goal is to represent our country successfully at 2017 Estonian Open Championships on Paragliding Accuracy

Our national team sportsmen Görkem Bulunç, Cemal Direkçi and Asst. Prof. Dr. Umut Akçıl will represent our country by participating in Estonian Open Championships on Paragliding Accuracy that will be held at Nurmsi Airfield, Estonia on 23-26 February 2017.
