The Lifelong Education Programmes of Near East University on Educational Sciences are commencing in September

Near East University Lifelong Education Centre and Atatürk Faculty of Education will be holding short-term educational programmes which will create new awareness and increase the participants’ skills and knowledge.

It was announced that Near East University Lifelong Education Centre (YABEM) and Atatürk Faculty of Education will be holding short-term certificate programs during the Academic Year of 2018-2019, aimed at teachers, teacher candidates, personnel working in the field of education in general, and to everyone from various parts of the community.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the short-term certificate programs will be run by the NEU academicians and specialists on various issues related to different professions. Furthermore, the certificate courses to begin in September, that will be held at Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education include; stress and stress management; techniques for preparing a research report for Social Sciences; Fashion and Textile Design, Using Museums as a medium of education in art-craft lessons, using and managing WEB 2.0 tools for educational purposes, Methods of overcoming addiction, Mother-Father-Child Relationships and many short-term programmes alike.

Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş: “In a fast changing era, it is only through systematic education that one can equip oneself with contemporary knowledge and skills and therefore have the ability to think analytically from a broad perspective.”

Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş stated that the short-term certificate programmes to commence in September focused on various fields of educational sciences; aiming to educate participants of the courses to have a wider knowledge, better perception and awareness. He said that as globalisation is becoming a worldwide phenomenon people have the opportunity to access information; however, this has a downside as people have the delusion of using this information in an effective and goal oriented purposes.  On the contrary, once an individual equips himself/herself with the most contemporary knowledge, skills and experience, it is easier to manage and judge the authenticity of information. Bearing in mind the need for well educated and in fact individuals who have internalized the concept of lifelong education, Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education is offering short-term certificate programs designed to meet the current needs of participants; enabling them to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired from these courses systematically. Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş provided details that the certificate programs were aimed at teachers, teacher candidates and personnel working in the field of education in general. The educational programmes such as stress management and overcoming addiction  are designed in such a way that they will develop professionally, alongside live daily lives more efficiently and healthily.
