The second Stakeholders Meeting of 2017 for "Library for All "project brought the stakeholders including the Near East University together in Ankara on Saturday 7 October, 2017.

According to the press info released by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, NEU Grand Library Collection Coordinator Emre Karahasan attended the meeting where LFA (Library for All) Director M. Emin Küçük delivered the opening speech and provided information about the activities that carried out recently within the scope of the project. Then, Dr. Zehra Taşkın from the Impact Assessment Working Group addressed to the attending body and expressed the impact of the project on libraries in figures.

Karahasan: "To make the libraries a "Center of Attraction" via LFA Program"

Delivering information about LFA program, which adopts 'Local Transformation, Global Access' as its official motto, Emre Karahasan, NEU Grand Library Collection Coordinator, underlined that the program aimed at putting a changeover and development into motion in municipality libraries in provinces, districts, cities and turning these libraries into a center of attraction for the citizens living in these regions.

Highlighting that LFA program would help not only to transform municipality libraries into centers for community, Karahasan indicated that the program would also play a significant role in providing women, elderly, adults, unemployed, disabled, and rural people with benefits regarding economic development, education, communication and cultural issues that included in the field of impact assessment. Karahasan said that everything required ensuring the sustainability of program activities, which are also supported by stakeholders in the society, the private sector and NGOs, would be done.

To ensure a higher quality of life for citizens via LFA program

In his remarks regarding the vision of LFA program, Karahasan underlined that the program attached a special focus on turning the municipality libraries in provinces, districts and cities into community centers and ensuring a higher quality of life by contributing to the lives of women, elderly, young, unemployed, disabled and rural people on issues regarding economical development, education, communication and culture.

Karahasan emphasized that the mission of LFA program was to make the municipality libraries in provinces, districts and cities become a center of attraction that meets the information needs of the citizens.
