The Exhibition of 45 Art Pieces made by Azerbaijani Artists Especially for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts has been opened by the Head of National Unity Part Ersin Tatar

It was announced that the exhibition of art pieces prepared by 9 Azerbaijani artists especially for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, titled as “Exhibition of Azerbaijani Artists” has recently been opened by the Head of National Unity Party (UBP) Ersin Tatar.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the exhibition was opened at the exhibition hall of Near East University Hospital and in addition to the Head of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar, Member of Parliament Aytaç Çaluda, Central District Governor Ahmet Arslan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Assoc Prof Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, Vice General Secretary of National Unity Party Ahmet Savaşan, Vice Rectors, Deans, Academicians, Azerbaijani artists and guests attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

It was pointed out that during the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, made a speech alongside Azerbaijani Artists Namig İsmayılzada and Vugar Aliyev, and Head of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar.

Azerbaijan Art makes a great contribution to World Art…
Making the opening speech, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, expressed that there were good pieces included in the exhibition and added that the Azerbaijan art was making a great contribution to world art. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu, expressed that the art pieces of the Azerbaijani artists reflected originality and modernity.

He added that the Azerbaijani artists integrated the harmony of colours with contemporary art techniques, making contribution to not only the Soviet Ecole but also to world art. Moreover, he stated that the Azerbaijan art actually had an influence on the Turkic world and pointed out that there were almost 200 Azerbaijani artists in Turkey. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu emphasised that Azerbaijani artists were quite successful in making use of the harmony of colours; as this was one of the most significant features of art. He ended his words by expressing that while bright colours provide aesthetic beauties, these colours also placed psychological influence on the art observers.


“We have created wonderful art pieces in Cyprus!”
Azerbaijani artist Namig İsmayılzada made a speech and asserted that they were quite happy and proud to be a part of this exhibition. He also stated that each art piece created by an artist was so valuable that it was like a child to that artist. Moreover, he expressed that as one of the Turkic countries, they had created beautiful art pieces in Cyprus. He also stressed that via the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, the foundation of a significant project was made. Namig İsmayılzada ended his words by quoting Atatürk’s words “Ne Mutlu Türk’üm Diyene” (how happy is the one who calls himself/herself a Turk).

Also making a speech, Azerbaijani Artist Vugar Aliyev stated that they were very happy to be a part of the exhibition and expressed gratitude to the Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel for initiating such a great project; causing the Turkish communities to come together at a single location. Vugar Aliyev reasserted that as Azerbaijani artists, they were quite pleased to be there and added that meticulous efforts were put forth to realise the exhibition due to the awareness that these works of art will be passed onto future generations via this museum.

General Chair of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar: “The bond among the Turkic world communities is strengthening via art events…”
In his speech, General Head of the main opposition party, National Unity Party, Ersin Tatar stated that thanks to the increasing number of art events, the bond among the Turkic world communities was strengthening. He also emphasized that these events should continue so as to nurture the medium for a strong nation with heart bond.

Ersin Tatar emphasised that a lot of hard work was done in order to establish the Turkish Cypriot state. Furthermore, he stated that the growth and foundation of economic establishments and the recognition of the existence of the Turkish Cypriot community were rather significant developments; stressing that art activities actually created further opportunities for these developments to happen.

He expressed that the pieces of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts were historic and added how pleased he was to have found the opportunity to see these valuable pieces; getting a closer look at the works of the great Turkish nation. He also emphasised that it was necessary that new generations should be encouraged to be involved with art.

Head of National Unity Party Ersin Tatar stated that it was rather significant to continue to work productively and leave a valuable heritage to future generations. In this regard, he expressed many thanks to the Near East Family for providing such an environment which will serve for this purpose.

Certificates of Gratitude were presented…
Subsequent to the speeches made, Head of National Unity Party (UBP) Ersin Tatar presented certificates of gratitude to the 9 Azerbaijani artists for their invaluable contribution to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.

Art lovers are provided pieces rich in culture and art…
Following the presentation of certificates of gratitude, the opening ribbon was cut.

It was announced that the oil-painting exhibition of the Azerbaijani artists will be open to visit for two weeks at 10.00-12.00 on weekdays.
