The 22th Fall Term Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Engineering of Near East University was realized

2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Term graduates of Near East University Faculty of Engineering received their diplomas with a glorious ceremony held at the Main Hall of NEU Atatürk Culture and Congress Center (AKKM).

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press & Public Relations Office of NEU, the Faculty of Engineering of Near East University realized the 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Term Graduation Ceremony at the Main Hall of Atatürk Culture and Congress Center (AKKM). The graduation ceremony was realized with the participation of NEU vice Rector Professor Şenol Bektaş, NEU Faculty of Engineering Dean Professor Mehmet Ozsöz, department chairpersons, faculty members, students and their parents.

The graduation ceremony began with a moment in silence in mourning of Mustafa Kemal ATATURK, Turkish Cypriot leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük, TRNC Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş and all martyrs and followed by singing the national anthem.

Then, the Faculty Dean Professor Mehmet Ozsoy, and on behalf of the term graduates, Sıla Taşkın and Omar Aldaher delivered speeches respectively.

Following the speeches, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamil Dimililer, Derviş Paşa, Eyup Kavalcı and Güney Bensel,the members of Faculty of Engineering, performed a music recital. The dance show performed by the Cyprus Folk Dances Group of Near East University attracted great admiration.

Prof. Dr. Ozsöz: "We Are Giving You the Key of a Big Palace..."
In his opening remarks, the Faculty Dean Professor Ozsöz wholeheartedly congratulated the 22th Fall Term graduates of the Near East University, which is the most rooted and prestigious university of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Highlighting the importance of working hard in achieving sustainable success in life, Professor Ozsöz expressed his views: “We are giving you a key, this key is for opening the door of a big palace. However, this palace is not furnished; it is quite empty, it's you who will furnish and enhance it by working hard. In this Internet-driven Information Age, information has become a commodity that is quickly and widely disseminated and easily available especially through the use of computer technology; you can access and deliver all kinds of information through internet. Never give up working hard on this path that you will go in for a brilliant career by gaining experience; always aim for the utmost level. The Faculty of Engineering of Near East University raised you well and equipped you with the most comprehensive information and skills required to achieve your goals”.


"While Progressing on This Path, I Have Learnt Not Only Thinking as an Engineer But Also Questioning and Continuing by Being Resolute in Purpose and Belief..."
Delivering a speech on behalf of the Turkish speaking graduate, Sıla Taşkın expressed her views: "Dear fellows, at the end of a challenging educational process, we are completing our university life with its ups and downs. Today, we are closing a page and opening a new one in our lives. We are crowning our efforts with a diploma qualifying us as engineers. We feel the great pride and happiness of graduating from a faculty that proven its excellence in education. While progressing on this path, I have learned not only to think like an engineer but also questioning and continuing by being resolute in purpose and belief. For everything that we learnt, I would like to thank to mainly to Head Teacher Mustafa Kemal ATATURK and all the teaching staff who sacrificed great effort and worked devotedly to raise us well" said she.

"Choosing Near East University for My Undergraduate Education Was a Right Decision that Prides Me...."

Delivering a speech on behalf of foreign students graduating from NEU Faculty of Engineering, Omar Aldaher stated that he made the right decision by preferring Near East University for his undergraduate education. "It was a right decision that prides me. Throughout our education process in TRNC we faced bravely the hardships of life and regained our self-confidence. I would like to extend my thanks to my lecturers, who devotedly worked and equipped us with the most contemporary professional knowledge and skills. I wish success to all my friends in their new lives" said he.

The Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects Sent a Message...
Sending a message to the graduation ceremony, the Chairperson of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects, Seran Aysal congratulated the term graduates and wished continuing success for them.  "I wish, you will carry out your professions in compliance with professional and moral ethics by keeping strict to the principles of engineering and science. I hope, you will adopt these three concepts as principle. Dear Colleagues, never forget that the first thing that you should do is to register in your country's professional chamber before starting to practice your profession in your countries. I wish all of you success in your personal and professional lives. The doors of our Union will always be open for you" noted he in his message.

A Music Recital and Dance Show Were Performed...
Following the speeches, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamil Dimililer, Derviş Paşa, Eyup Kavalcı and Güney Bensel, the faculty members of the Music Teaching Department of Atatürk Faculty of Education, performed a music recital. The dance show performed by the Cyprus Folk Dances Group of Near East University attracted great admiration. Then the graduates received their diplomas and experienced the joy of graduation by throwing their caps.
