Students of Near East University attended the “2030 Seminars with “JetGenç”

Hosted by Near East University Student Deanery, and jointly organised by JetGenç (JetYouth), which is a youth platform of AnadoluJet (Turkish flight company), and Turkish Futurist Association, the “2030 Seminars with “JetGenç” was held at Near East University Grand Library.

Near East University Students have attended the series of seminars, which was organised in Turkey for the first time, that considers the status of the changing Earth as we proceed into 2030 and is based on the “human 2030” report.

Near East University Students have been introduced the occupations of the future...

The Near East University Students who attended the seminar, which was jointly organised by the youth platform of AnadoluJet and Turkish Futurist Association, were introduced to future occupations and significant clues indicating these jobs.

In addition to above, it was expressed that Turkish Futurist Association had based the seminars on a special report issued by Manchester Institute of Innovation Research of University of Manchester. Moreover, short films were shown on animated characters such as Climate Police Nazlı; Social Media Engineer Eda; Time Manager Tankut; and Information Bank Merve, which both informed and entertained the attendees of the seminar.

Dilan Çiftçi: “It was highly beneficial for our students to have been informed of future occupations!”

Making a statement on the matter, Vice Dean of Students of Near East University, Academic Member Dilan Çiftçi, expressed that th,s seminar had been organised in Turkey for the first time and that the seminar series involved the status of the constantly changing world as we progress to 2030, questioning the meaning of ‘human’ in 2030. She added that having attended this seminar at the Near East University, the Near East University Students significantly benefitted by gaining an understanding which will guide them as they plan their futures.

What is "Human 2030" Report?

The “Human 2030” Report aims to inform each individual of the community and aims each institution to be aware of the future, the speed of change, uncertainties of the future and opportunities triggered by the aforementioned uncertainties. The Report consists of five main parts and includes global and regional trends and tendencies which are also to have an impact on Turkey. These trends have been gathered together as; ‘Public and Culture’, ‘Science and Technology’, ‘Energy’, ‘The Environment and Economy’, and ‘Geopolitics and Security’. Furthermore, the report is expressed to include issues ranging from demographic features to urbanisation; efficiency of information and communication technologies; climate change to cyber attacks. Moreover, the report also provides information on human and life profiles predicted to be true by 2030.
