Organised by the Near East University Faculty of Sports Sciences, the workshop on Basic Gymnastics Education was realised with high participation.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the workshop was held with the contribution of Head of Department of Recreation of Pamukkale University, Assoc Prof Dr Özgür Mülazımoğlu Ballı, in 3 sessions as theoretical and applied sessions.

The workshop was realised at Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre Hall 1 and on the first day of the workshop, Assoc Prof Dr Ballı made a presentation on the history of gymnastics. On the second and third days, warming up and stages of basic gymnastics education. It was pointed out that students, teachers and trainers of different ages had participated in the workshops.

It was said that the opening speech of the workshop was done by Dean of Faculty of Sports Sciences of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Mehtap Tiryakioğlu, who expressed that they were very pleased to host one of the most successful gymnasts of all times within the Turkish national and international arenas, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Mülazımoğlu Ballı.

In addition to the above, it was expressed that the workshop ended subsequent to plaque presentation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Mülazımoğlu Ballı by Prof. Dr. Mehtap Tiryakioğlu.
