While some of the drinks, which are an important part of the social life in the Turkish Cypriot culture, are accepted and adopted as unique to the island (lemonade, instant coffee, milk tea, kefir), some drinks (rose milk, rose juice, sherbet, sumada) have sunk into oblivion with the influence of a more popular and dominant drinking culture today. It was emphasized that it is of great importance to include these drinks in the textbooks and to offer them in schools, especially in order to keep the drinks in question alive.
