A booklet comprising the ideas and work on providing accessible life in the country has been published. The booklet is expressed to make emphasis on the necessity of systemised and scientific work to facilitate accessible life in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
As a result of 4 years of hard work and many meetings held on the matter, the Near East University Accessible Life and Relative Activities Booklet has been published; a booklet which is expected to act as a directory to everyone in the public; including all relative parities concerned with accessible life in the country.
It was pointed out that the booklet was designed based on the scientific work and social-responsibility activities carried out since 2013 and that it was prepared by the Head of Centre of Communal Research and Development, Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay, and other members of the Centre. The Centre of Communal Research and Development is a centre is a centre which functions under the body of Centre of Excellence of Near East Institute, Near East University. The booklet provides details on people, establishments and institutions which are all involved in the preparation process of the booklet. Additionally, there are suggestions regarding education, tourism, health, the public and social life in the country with regard to accessible life.
According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the booklet was prepared in the light of all scientific work and meetings carried out on accessible life, alongside workshops and all cooperation between institutions since 2013. Moreover, the booklet consists of such information that it will enable it to act as a stepping stone for activities to be carried out in the future.
Altınay: “This booklet is the product of all scientific work and social activities carried out on the matter since 2013!”
Head of Centre of Communal Research and Development Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay stated that they had brought a scientific approach to life to be accessible by all, and that since the date when they first focused on the matter, a lot has been achieved. She further stated that in order to attain an “accessible” country, public institutions, non-governmental organisations, the private sector and universities had made great improvements. Within the framework of the vision and mission of the Centre of Communal Research and Development, she stressed that they had started to make great efforts in 2013 and that they will be continuing to do so. Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay emphasised that they had received much support from various institutions alongside the public per se and in this regard, they will be continuing to organise conferences, workshops and meetings to make further achievements in the field. Therefore, she expressed that she felt obliged to thank each and every part who had provided support. Moreover, she added her belief that they perceived this booklet as the product of all scientific work and social activities carried out on the matter since 2013. Finally, Prof. Dr. Altınay expressed that their work had been published in the “Journal of Educational Technology & Society”; where she acts as an editor herself.
Koldaş: “There is a need for all parties to systematically and scientifically cooperate to achieve accessible life here in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”
Making a statement on the matter, Head of Near East Institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş, stated that in order to achieve “accessible life” in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, there was a need for all parties to systematically and scientifically cooperate.He added that they were aiming to contribute to all the scientific projects developed by the Centre of Communal Research and development of Centre of Excellence of the Near East University and that they strongly believed that this booklet will serve as a stepping stone to future work in the field.
