Prepared by Near East University Faculty of Communication the screening of the documentary “Söz’ün Son Kadını: Bedia Hanım” was realized in Macedonia

Prepared by the Near East University Faculty of Communication Department of Radio, TV and Cinema, the documentary titled as “Sözün Son Kadını-Bedia Hanım”, which is based on the first woman journalist of Cyprus, Bedia Okan Göreli revealing her journey into journalism, was screened at Macedonia FON University.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the screening was realized in Macedonia FON University, as part of the Turkic World Documentary Film Festival. Furthermore, it was stated that General Manager of Federation of Turkic World Journalists, Menderes Demir, and the committee; alongside the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mayors of Municipalities, artists, academicians and students attended the event.

In addition to the above, it was pointed out that the documentary titled as “Sözün Son Kadını: Bedia Hanım” was prepared by the Department of Radio, TV and Cinema of Faculty of Communication of Near East University as a result of tedious research into the matter and that the films was prepared by that Ömer Evre and Zeyde Yalıner Örek, and Directed by Assoc Prof Dr Fevzi Kasap.

The Film received international invitations…
In addition to the above, it was stated that the General Director of the documentary was Head of Department of Radio-T and Cinema of Near East University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap and the documentary was based on the first Turkish woman journalist of Cyprus, Bedia Okan Göreli.

Furthermore, the Drama Manager of the film was Ömer Evre and the Director of Cinematography was Zeyde Yalıner Örek; and the documentary film was initially screened in Turkey. Subsequently, the documentary received international invitations to be screened abroad.

Moreover, Assoc Prof Dr. Fevzi Kasap stated that there was a plan to screen the documentary in several countries with Russian and English subtitles. Thus, it was emphasized that this was a great opportunity to promote Bedia Okan Göreli’s career life as the first woman journalist in many different countries.
