Orientation Days that organized for the New Students by the Near East University continue

The Orientation, Welcome and Placement Days that started on August 21st continue with various activities to orient and welcome the newcomer students who preferred and enrolled in the Near East University for the academic year 2017-2018.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office, a wide range of cultural, social and academic activities are carried out within the scope of Orientation, Welcome and Placement Days that organized annually by the Near East University. The overriding aim of these activities is to ensure the adaptation of the newcomer students and provide them with opportunities to get to know each other, the university and the country.

Through Culture Tours, our country has been introduced in the best way....

Within the Scope of the Orientation Days, trips to the districts of Kyrenia, Nicosia, Famagusta and Karpaz were realized in accompany of competent guides and experienced team of the Deanery of Students.

During the trips, the newcomer students had the opportunity to get an idea about the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and get to know the history and culture of our country closely.

New students have come together at breakfast....

Newcomer students came together at the breakfast meeting that organized by the Deanery of Students within the frame of the Orientation Days.

Deanery's Team Leader Psychologist Çağla Akarsel and team members, Secretary the General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeter Batur, Dormitories Director Exp. Recep Uğur Arslan participated in the event. During the breakfast meeting, students were provided with information regarding the university campus, accommodation, activities, facilities and possibilities that offered for them. As the students were curious to learn more about the university, they directed many questions. All questions were answered to ensure their satisfaction. The meeting was very fruitful in terms of creating a friendly environment for newcomer students to get to know each other and paving the way towards new friendships.


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz: "We aim to introduce the students to the University Life, to offer tips to ease their adaptation and coalescence..."

Touching upon the significance of organizing a variety of events to orient and welcome the new students, Near East University Student Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz underlined that they aimed to introduce the students to the university life, to offer them tips on how to adapt to this new life, to introduce the new environment that they engaged in and to ensure coalescing with each other.

Stating that they had designed information pack program during the Orientation Days to inform new students about all their rights and responsibilities and the services and possibilities offered by the Near East University for the students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz delivered further information regarding the issue: " The Orientation Days program was prepared to introduce campus and campus facilities to new students and to support them in the adaptation process to the life in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This special orientation program with information packs, tips, trips, social, cultural, sporting and academic activities provided new students opportunities to learn more about our country, the university, their faculties and departments, to get acquainted with the faculty members and campus employees and to establish new friendships and to participate in a wide range of activities".

Newly enrolled students are very satisfied that they prefer Near East University...

Underlining that the students, who newly joined to Near East family in the academic year 2017-2018, and their parents had found themselves in a campus and environment that meet their expectations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz stated that they had enriched and facilitated the university life for students through these orientation programs. "In this aspect, the new students are very satisfied with preferring the Near East University and becoming a member of Near East family" said she.


Orientation Days will be over with 'Welcome to the Near East University Party'

Organized by the Near East University Student Deanery, the Orientation Program for the academic year 2017-2018 will be over on September 29 with 'Welcome to the Near East University Party'. The party will take place at 20:30-00:00 in the parking lot in front of İş Bank located in the Near East University Campus. Acustic4 Music Band and DJ Erim will take the stage at the party where dance shows will take breaths away.
