The cat named Gracy that brought to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for an ocular surgery has undergone a successful 4-hour operation at the Near East University Animal Hospital this morning.

Near East University Animal Hospital has performed a successful ocular surgery for the Norwegian cat suffering from corneal problem.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, the cat’s owner Norwegian Elsa Maria Hunberg provided information regarding the process. She stated that their cat was suffering from eye problem and they brought the cat to a veterinarian to identify the problem. After detecting the ocular problem through required tests and examinations, the veterinarian consulted with the ophthalmologists of Near East University Animal Hospital. As a result of the consultation, they brought the cat to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for an ocular surgery at Near East University Animal Hospital.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Eser Özgencil and his team performed a successful corneal operation which lasted four hours and corrected the problem that the one year old cat suffered from. It was stated that the cat was in good health and able to fly home in the evening.
