Asst. Prof. Dr. Pınar Tulay from Department of Medical Genetics of Near East University Faculty of Medicine attended a conference at Istanbul Culture University as an invitee speaker and gave a seminar on “DNA repair gene expression and protein function in human oocytes and pre-implantation embryos”.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pınar Tulay gave a seminar on “DNA repair gene expression in human oocytes and embryos and the role of protein function in embryonic development” at Istanbul Culture University upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Narçın Palavan Ünsal, Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Istanbul Culture University Faculty of Science and Letters, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Damla Arısan. Academic staff, post graduate, graduate and undergraduate final year students of Istanbul Culture University as well as sophomore students from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Near East University Faculty of Medicine participated in the seminar. The seminar attracted great interest of the attending body.

She presented the new approaches that defined by her for DNA repair gene expressions.

Touching upon the importance of profiling embryos prior to implantation and oocytes prior to fertilization, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pınar Tulay delivered information on her domain regarding pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). Then she presented new approaches that defined by her for DNA repair gene expression and protein function in human oocytes and pre-implantation embryos. She underlined that the aim of her new approach was to ensure a novel way to understand the protein functions and gene expressions associated with DNA repair as well as to identify DNA repair pathways which was of great importance in pre-implantation genetic profiling and embryonic development.

Asst. Prof. Pınar Tulay: “I shared my studies; I believe that we will contribute to science by exchanging information”

Delivering information regarding the issue, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pınar Tulay, lecturer at the Department of Medical Genetics of Near East University Faculty of Medicine, expressed her happiness of being at Istanbul Culture University as an invitee speaker. “I am extremely happy that I have shared my study and my new approaches with academics that engaged in the field and the students who will conduct research studies in this field. I believe that we will provide contribution to science by exchanging information” said she.

A discussion communion was held after the seminar…

After the seminar, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pınar Tulay came together with faculty members and doctorate students of Istanbul Culture University and they discussed pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), DNA repair systems and embryo development.
