A presentation on the classification of fine-grain soil in Northern Nicosia by using Artificial neural networks was made…
Jointly prepared by Prof. Dr. Braja Das and by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akgün and Özkan Özdağ from Dokuz Eylül University; Hilmi Dindar and Arif Özyankı from Near East University, a presentation on “The classification of for fine-grained soil in Northern Nicosia by using Artificial neural networks.”

During the presentation, it was stated that the algorithm of artificial neural networks was used to make classification of fine-grained soil by considering Atterberg values. For this, sand, silt, clay, liquidity index and plasticity index values were obtained and by considering the grain distribution values at the first phase of the study, the liquidity and plasticity indexes were guessed. Later at the second phase of the study, these values were used to make soil classification.
