Near East University Scientific Research Techniques Certificate Program to initiate on 9th April 2018

Near East University Life Long Education Centre and Atatürk Faculty of Education Centre are jointly organising a short-term certificate program on ‘Scientific Research Techniques’.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Near East University Life Long Education Centre (YABEM) and Atatürk Faculty of Education are initiating their short-term certificate program on ‘Scientific Research Techniques’ on 9th April 2018.

It was stated that as part of the program participants who are continuing their scientific studies will be provided theoretical and applied information on writing a scientific article and/or a thesis. Furthermore, it was stated that the certificate program will be run by experts in their fields and they will be providing useful information on research skills; research ethics; data entry and analysis on SPSS. The applied seminars of the short-term certificate program will be provided over five weeks at the Near East University Education Palace.

Dean of Near East Universit Atatürk Faculty of Education Prof Dr İsmail Hakkı Mirici stated that it was rather significant to apply scientific methods and techniques correctly and efficiently for the validity and reliability of research conducted. He added that the ‘Scientific Research Techniques’ short-term certificate program will be highly beneficial for the participants of the program.

Also making a statement on the matter, Head of NEU Life Long Education Centre Assoc. Prof Dr Umut Koldaş stated that participants of the certificate program will find the program quite useful and will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge in the process of selecting a research method; alongside procedures related to planning and conducting a scientific research study. He added that constructing a link between the theoretical framework and empirical data was very important during the planning and conducting of research and the researcher was required to make certain decisions; and these decisions were rather important with regard to the success of the study. In this regard, Assoc. Prof Dr Umut Koldaş stated that the certificate program was designed to equip the participants with the required knowledge and skills. Moreover, he stated that basic principles of research methodologies, approaches and techniques were integrated to the program to meet the researchers’ needs. However, he added that the program was not limited with theoretical concepts and also involved data processing and analysis on SPSS program. He ended his words that participants had the opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge on both qualitative and quantitative research studies.
