Near East University Medical Students’ Association represented our country on an International Platform

Medical Students’ Association of Near East University found the opportunity to represent the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the students of medicine on an international platform for the first time. The international event was expressed to be the 66th meeting of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) and it was held in Budva, Karadag.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University the international meeting was held on 2-8 March to which 132 medical students’ associations from 125 different countries attended. Furthermore, a delegation of 5, including the Chairman of Medical Students’ Association of Near East University, Gülperi Ateş; General Secretary Parla Ulual; Vice Chairman responsible for Foreign Affairs Kubilay Pıçaklar; Financial Director Ronayi Bayram; and Director of Publishing Burak Tavşanoğlu participated in the event.

Gülperi Ateş: “Our connections are continuing for the membership...”

Making a statement regarding the matter, Gülperi Ateş expressed that their connections for the membership to the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association was continuing. She added that they, as the Medical Students’ Association of Near East University, were to participate in EuRegMe 2017, European Regional Meeting of which is to be held in Antalya, Turkey. At this meeting, they were to continue to make connections and will deal with membership application forms. If all goes well, we will be making our official presentation from Northern Cyprus hopefully get our full membership.
