Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy, faculty member Dr. İlker Gelişen was appointed as the working group chair of the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Pharmaceutical Medicine (IFAPP) Academy.

According to information provided by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, Dr. İlker Gelişen who is a member of Turkey Biotechnology Medicines Association (BİYİLDER), was appointed as the chairman of the working group affiliated to IFAPP within BİYİLDER.

Established in 1975, IFAPP's aim is not only to bring together doctors and scientists from the pharmaceutical industry together with research institutes and staff in academic medicine, but to develop medicine, to internationalize the advancement of knowledge in pharmaceutical medicine. İlker Gelişen said that the roles of physicians working in the pharmaceutical industry and of other health professionals involved in the drug development process are gradually increasing. Dr. Gelişen stated that the developing field of Pharmaceutical Medicine is the core of discovery, development, evaluation, registration, medical scientific marketing, monitoring and discipline of drugs for the benefit of patients and public health.
