Near East University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of International Relations and Political Science students visited the National Assembly within the scope of the “International Institutions and Organizations Course”.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, the students visited Teberrüken Uluçay, the President of the Republican Assembly, and observed the functioning of the Assembly closely. Council on Foreign Relations and Protocol Director Yasa Yeşilada held an interview with the students about the Council of Europe, members of the organization, and functioning of the Turkish Cypriot representation in the Council.

The President of the Assembly Teberrüken Uluçay, who accepted the students in the Blue Hall of the National Assembly, emphasized that one of the important development areas of the country is the universities and it is very important for the students to know our country on this occasion. Uluçay pointed out that, during their stay in our country, the information they acquired both politically and culturally, in fact, made the students the natural representatives of the country in the later processes, and stated that they, as governors of the state, will continue to work to meet the needs of the students during their stay.

Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Head of Department of Political Science Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nur Köprülü pointed out that observing the functioning of the Parliament and the legislature itself on site will be a permanent experience in the students' memories as the fieldwork realized gives them new learning styles.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Köprülü said, "Field studies were conducted by organizing courtesy visits to such public institutions and organizations in order to observe the ways of implementation of the theoretical knowledge acquired in the lessons such as political systems, state theories, conflict resolution, election laws, democracy models and foreign policy. We value the execution of knowledge through the field works.”

Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Şerife Zihni Eyüpoğlu, who expressed her views on the field work. emphasized that such field studies are supported with an interdisciplinary understanding of education and thus faculty students have the opportunity to get to know the public institutions and organizations closely and thus improve their problem-solving skills on platforms that encourage dialogue between individuals and public foundations and institutions.
