Near East University Faculty of Dentistry Students at International Platform

-Near East University Faculty of Dentistry students represented the Near East University with NCADS in Slovakia.

Near East University Faculty of Dentistry Student Union, Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students (NCADS) represented the Near East University and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus by attending International Association of Dentistry Students (IADS) MidYear Meeting which was held in Bratislava in Slovakia.

According to the Press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the International Association of Dental Students was established in 1951, to unite the dental students of the world and allow them to exchange knowledge and experiences about dentistry at an international level. It was expressed that the NCADS git together with many dental students at the aforementioned meeting to share developments in the field, including internships and research exchange programs; which will enable students to take part in exchange programs so as to get internship experiences and make observations.

They will be competing to realise the General Meeting and Congress of the IADS in the TRNC…

At the MidYear Meeting of the IADS 2016, NCADS competed with other countries and were chosen among the first three successful teams; which will further compete to hold the IADS 2017 General Meeting and Congress in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). For this, NCADS will be competing with other countries at the World Dentistry Congress which will be held in Poland later in 2016.

Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “We are proud of the NCADS. I would like to wish the best of luck to them in the competition that will take place in Poland!”

Making a statement on the matter, Vice Rector of Near East University, Tamer Şanlıdağ, expressed that they were rather proud of the dentistry students and added that they believed that they not only represented the Near East University at an international platform but also represented the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a whole. He added that the Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students (NCADS) was established in 2013, consisting of Near East University Dental Students, and that they were excited of the possibility that 2017 IADS General Meeting and Congress might be held in the TRNC. In this regard, he wished the best of luck to the NCADS in the competition in Poland.

What is NCADS?

The NCADS was established in 2013 and is an association which includes dental students in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a national and international platform. It was established to; help promote better standards of dental education, enable international interaction with parties in other countries, facilitate international exchange programs to take place, enable students to share and be aware of latest developments in the field, enable dental students in the TRNC communicate with dental students from other cultures and nationalities.
