Near East University Faculty of Architecture member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zihni Turkan was elected to the "5th International Conference on Building Materials and Construction" (ICBMC 2020) Scientific Technical Committee.

According to the information provided by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, the Scientific Technical Committee of the 5th International Conference on Building Materials and Construction (ICBMC 2020), which will be held at the capital of Japan, Tokyo, consists of 26 academicians from various countries, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zihni Turkan, a teaching member of the Faculty of Architecture of Near East University from Cyprus.

At the opening ceremony of the Conference of which the Head Advisor of the Conference is Prof. Dr. Tan Kiang Hwee from National University of Singapore and Chair of the Conference is Prof. Dr. Umemura Kazuo from Tokyo Science University, Prof. Dr. Kyoung Sun Moon (Yale University, USA), Prof. Dr. Nuno Dinis Cortiços (Lisbon University, Portugal) and Prof. Dr. Ho Chee Cheong (Tunku Abdul Rahman University, Malaysia) will deliver speeches as invited speakers.

Near East University Faculty of Architecture Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zihni Turkan providing information about the conference, stated that in addition to sharing research and development on materials used in the building industry in the conference, they aim to provide scientific information exchange and share experiences between scientific researchers, engineers, students and practitioners in different countries of the world. He stated that scientific papers including the topics in “Architecture and Urban Planning - Civil and Structural Engineering - Materials Science and Engineering - Material Properties, Measurement Methods and Applications - Material Production and Operation” will be presented.
