Near East University Department of Music Teaching participated in the Bilkent University Violin Days

Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education Department of Music Teaching Participated in the violin days held by Bilkent University.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Department of Music Teaching participated in the 2nd Violin Days organised by Bilkent University.

It was revealed that Head of Department of Music Teaching of Near East University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ertem Nalbantoğlu, academic member of the department who teaches viola, Sinem Sadrazam and 8 violin, 2 viola students actively participated in the event.

It was pointed out that the event was organised in honour of the Great Turkish Violinist and state artist Ayla Erduran and that worldly renown soloist violin tutors Mincho Minchev, İtzhak Rashkovsky, Lutsia İbragimova, Cihat Aşkın, İldiko Moog, Ellen Jevvet, Gülen Ege Serter, Şeniz Aybuluş, Şenol Aydın, Rasim Bağırov, Bahar Kutay, Feruza Abdullaeva, Adilhoca Aziz and Muhammedjan Turdiev ustalık performed outstandingly at the event.

Making a statement regarding the matter, Coordinator Muhammedjan Turdiev stated that a large part of the responsibility to promote and nurture love of music in the community fell to music teachers. He further emphasised that music teachers were at a key location to channel ‘art’ to the community, he therefore stressed that music teachers needed to be raised well. In this regard, he pointed out the participation of Near East University to the event was significant and that he wished the cooperation between the establishments continued in the future as well.

Also making a statement on the matter, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ertem Nalbantoğlu expressed that NEU Department of Music Teaching was only at its third year and that it had achieved to be in an event in Bilkent University, with distinguished conservatories of Turkey and with highly esteemed violin tutors. Furthermore, he stressed that through this event future music teachers to be, studying at NEU Department of Music Teaching, had found the opportunity to observe and experience worldly renown violin tutors, observe masterclass, performances of young virtuosos and the level and tempo of efforts, which all surely made a great contribution to them. Moreover, Nalbantoğlu, expressed many thanks to Muhammedjan Turdiev and Assist. Prof. Dr. Kağan Korad for inviting them over to Bilkent University, and he also thanked the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel for giving them support in participating in such a fruitful event.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ertem Nalbantoğlu ended his words by stating that a strong bond has been established between the Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education Department of Music Teaching and participating conservatory tutors at Bilkent University and that in a short period of time, they intended to organise joint work together.
