Near East Angels made their mark at the 2016 Rio Olympics

Six athletes from the Near East University Women’s Basketball Team played at their national basketball teams and successfully represented their countries at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, members of the Near East University Women’s Basketball team Şebnem Kimyacıoğlu, Olcay Çakır, Bahar Çağlar, Yelena Leunchanka, Nevena Jovanovic and Ana Dabovic played at their national basketball teams and successfully represented their countries at the 2016 Rio Olympic games.

Transferred to NEU Women’s Basketball Team the preceding year, Ana Dabovic played at the national basketball team of Syrbia alongside Nevena Jovanovic, who was transferred to NEU this current year, both displayed an outstanding performance, contributing to the team’s success in winning the bronze medal at the Olympics; becoming the second runner up in the women’s basketball games.
