More and more Medical Students in Turkey prefer Near East University to carry out their research

As part of the protocol signed between Near East University Medical Students Union and Medical Students Union of Turkey (TurkMSIC) more and more students prefer to carry out their research at Near East University; via a research exchange program.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, a total of 14 medical students have come to Near East University Faculty of Medicine from 6 different faculties of medicine of various universities in Turkey so as to do their internships and participate in research projects as assistant researchers.

Through the research exchange program, the medical students will be research assistants at Research Centres and Laboratories of Near East University, where they will be acting as research assistants of scientific research projects. Furthermore, students coming to Near East University due to internship exchange program will be able to undertake their internships at Near East University Hospital; via the program which will continue over four weeks, and be awarded certificates documenting their internships.

Students from various universities around Turkey have come to NEU…

It was pointed out that as part of the 2017 summer term internship and research exchange program, students from various esteemed universities around Turkey such as Akdeniz, Ankara TOBB, Celal Bayar, Gaziantep University, Koceeli, Namık Kemal, On Dokuz Mayıs, Ufuk and Yıldırım Beyazıt University.

More students are expected to arrive during August…

In addition to the above, it was expected that 14 more students are expected to come to Faculty of Medicine of Near East University during August. What is more is that due to the protocol signed, medical students of Near East University will be taking part in the exchange program to universities in Turkey to do their internships and/or participate in research projects.

Doctor candidates express contentedness…

The 14 young medical students, doctors to be in the future, expressed contentedness regarding the internship and research project exchange program and emphasised that they were very pleased with the opportunities provided to them at the Near East University. Moreover, they thanked the academic staff and authorities of the Near East University and stressed that this was a great opportunity to develop themselves in their future careers; and at the same time a chance to get to know the island and its culture. They further added that they were extremely satisfied with the hospitality and quality of education provided to them during their presence at the Near East University.

International internship is being considered…

For the purpose of gaining insights, new experiences regarding education and culture, Near East University is considering to make the necessary connections in the future; enabling its medical students to take part in international internship and research project exchange programs via agreements with universities around the world.
