Joint studies of Near-East University Robotics Laboratory and 3-Dimensional Laboratory let to starting joint production of robotic hand from 3D printer.

According to a press statement made by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, the robotic hand, of which the design stage has long been continued, is now realized by the 3D printer located in the laboratory.

In the statement, it is also reported that after the necessary tests have been carried out, a second generation hand will be designed and over time a fully functional prosthesis hand production will be performed. Moreover, the the prototype production of the Robotic hand which will be used in the medical field is quite satisfying.

Robotic Hand will be used as a prosthesis

In the joint statement made by the Near East University Robotics Laboratory and the 3-Dimensional Laboratory, it was emphasized that the use of the 3D printers in the medical field is increasing day by day. Ersin Aytac, Engineer at Near East University Innovation and Information Technologies Center, said "We used the images of the patient's MRI, CT and the organ models reproduced by the 3-dimensional printer in the field of child surgery. Now we are working on a robotic hand in addition to the studies we are conducting with our hospital. First, this hand will work as a robotic hand, and then can be used as a patient prosthesis. "
