Important cooperation protocol between Near East Institute and International Strategic Research Institution (ISRI)

Near East Institute and International Strategic Research Institution will conduct joint studies and projects on Cyprus issue and future of Mediterranean.

Near East Institute signed a cooperation protocol with International Strategic Research Institution which is one of the important think tank institutions of Turkey and of the world.

According to a press statement released by the Press and Publi Relations Directorate of Near East University, Nicosia, Cyprus, Near East Institute and International Strategic Research Institution, as the two parties, will conduct joint studies and projects, hold seminars, workshops and conferences on important issues such as the Cyprus issue and political problems in Eastern Mediterranean geography that generate significant agenda and have impact on international policies and politics within the scope of the cooperation protocol. Within the scope of the cooperation protocol, the parties will inform each other about national and international events such as conferences, workshops and so on, cooperate with each other in such events, and share all their social and academic facilities infrastructure with each other. Besides, within the scope of the protocol, the parties will exchange academic staff.

Retired Ambassador Özdem Sanberk, President of ISRI, who signed the protocol on behalf of ISRI, emphasized the importance of projects and studies that will be held and carried out by both institutions and said that they will always be with and in support of Near East University and of the Turkish Cypriots. Sanberk thanked Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş, Director of Near East Institute, who signed the protocol on behalf of the Near East Institute, and Ercan Çiftçioğlu, supervisor of Near East Institute for his valuable contributions in cooperation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş, Director of Near East Institute, who signed the cooperation protocol on behalf of Near East Institute, empasized the importance of the cooperation and said that the experiences on Eastern Mediterranean politics will lead to developing projects by the parties and improve academic and scientific cooperation, as well as developing an extensive source for references for academic studies and for politics.
