Bali: "I feel myself as if I am home"

Golden Honor Plaque was presented to Adnan Bali, General Director of Turkey İş Bank, by Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, Founding Rector of Near East University.

According to a press statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, the Golden Honor Plaque of Near East University was awarded to Adnan Bali, General Director of Turkey İş Bank, by Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, Founding Rector of Near East University, at a ceremony held in Near East Mansion in Kyrenia.

The reception hosted by Dr. Suat. İ. Günsel and Adnan Bali, the 16th General Director of Turkey İş Bank, his spouse Figen Bali, Cemre Günsel Haskasap, the Founding Rector of University of Kyrenia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, Chairman of Board of Trustees of NEU, Prof. Dr. Umit Hassan, Rector of NEU, Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu, Vice Rector of University of Kyrenia, vice rectors, deans, heads of departments, and other guests attended to reception.

Founding Rector Günsel delivering a speech before the presentation of award, said "There are two factor impressing us. Whoever contributes to our struggle to take roots in this land, he conquers the road that goes from our minds to our hearts.

The 16th General Director of Turkey İş Bank, Adnan Bali, has not broken the tradition and put into service all the institutions and foundations of his establishment and contributed to the struggle of Turkish Cypriots and supported the attempts to take deeper roots in this land. Adnan Bali, furthermore, realized the unusual facilities in Turkey and activated the information technologies infrastructure of his establishment to contribute to health and education sectors and studies of the universities and other institutions in Turkey. Bali is now leading to a new tradition. Amongst his attempts, the part which affects us deeply is that his attempts now involves the institutions of North Cyprus as well as contributing to our national struggle of existence in this land. This both affected and impressed us much as we now have more support in our progress.

Günsel also said "Adnan Bali, adopting the principle of achievement by saying that "I must first develop myself, then contribute to my country" has also found the way to success", and added, "Happiness is the essence of achievement, reading, and multiple reading..."

Günsel finally said "As he is continuing to maintain the same tradition in both our national struggle and in the terms of scientific studies, we would be much pleased if he could accept this honorary gold award, and achievements must always be crowned. We are much honoured to host Adnan Bali, the General Director of Turkey İş Bank."

Bali: "I feel myself as if I am home"

Adnan Bali, General Director of Turkey İş Bank, said that he feels as if at home when he is with the Near East Family and he is much happy to be a part of that event.

Bali said in his speech that Turkey İş Bank was established one year after the establishment of Republic of Turkey and its mission and vision was both set forth by Gazi Mustapha Kemal Atatürk.

Bali also said that he was accepting the award on behalf of all İş Bank employees and İş Bank has a great role in the progress so far reached by the country and these contributions of the institution should be awarded and much appreciated.

Bali also said that they have been performing in Cyprus since 1955 and this period is now over 60 years, and they will continue to exist on the island.

Bali empasized that the award presented will encourage their efforts and they will work with more enthusiasm, and thus expressed his deepest gratitude to Dr. Günsel, the Founding Rector of NEU.

The reception ended with the presentation of the Golden Honor Award to Adnan Bali.
