Cyprus Day Event was held at Near East College

Organized by Near East College Secondary School Honor Committee, Cyprus Day kermis was held with the contributions of sixth and seventh grade students and their teachers. The main aim of the kermis was to present the richness of Turkish Cypriot culture and donate the earnings to Umutevi that affiliated with the Association for Cancer Patients.

Traditional Cyprus cuisine that prepared by parents and teachers were sold

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, a wide variety of dishes belonging to traditional Cyprus cuisine including molehiya, kolokas, şeftali kebab, herse, mücendra, bulgur köftesi, hellimli, zeytinli, and pilavuna that prepared by parents and teachers were sold at the kermis. Seles and other Cyprus handicrafts were also sold at the kermis. The Cyprus Day kermis provided a pleasant environment for students not only to get a better understanding of Turkish Cypriot culture but also to experience an enjoyable day via children games, folklore, and music performed by Near East College Orchestra.

The earnings of the event were donated to Umutevi

Near East College teaching staff, students and parents demonstrated their social sensitivity once again by donating the revenue derived from the kermis to Huzurevi that affiliated with the Association for Cancer Patients.
