Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilgen Başgut: "We have actualized a first in TRNC and Turkey, I'm so happy"

Voicing her happiness of achieving a first, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilgen Başgut delivered information regarding the issue. “As Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy, we have achieved a first. We have founded Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Consulting Center (KEIDAM) which is the first of its kind in TRNC and Turkey. Clinical pharmacy is gaining an increasing importance nowadays. In cooperation with the Hospital of Near East University, the Faculty of Pharmacy conducts studies regarding this field and obtains very satisfactory results. We are very happy to be a pioneer in this field. Neither in TRNC nor in Turkey, there is a pharmacy faculty-aided clinical pharmacy center corresponding to the one we have opened within the Faculty of Pharmacy. In this regard, we receive invitations from many congresses to provide information regarding our specific services and establishment process. Previously, there was one similar center which was not aided by Faculty of Pharmacy. And now, following the establishment of our center, a center has been established within the body of a state medicine faculty in Turkey. We have paved the way, we follow the developments with great happiness and we are ready to provide every kind of support to ensure sustainable development in this field. Receiving an award for my contributions to the education of pharmacy students made me happy as well. As Near East University, we always aim to provide better education beyond the international standards” said she.
