YÖK and YÖDAK approved PhD and Master Degree programs on Molecular Medicine have been launched at the Near East University

Near East University will train highly qualified researchers in the field of molecular medicine.

Having been the leading gear of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in clinical and biomedical sciences that covers basic and applied sciences, the Near East University has taken another innovative scientific step towards raising well-versed researchers in the field of "Future Medicine"; namely molecular medicine.
Clinical sciences are important for producing new information valuable for understanding human diseases, preventing and treating illness, promoting health, and improving people's living standards. Offering quality education for approximately 30 years and having 10 year experience in the field of applied medicine, the Near East University has already proven its quality and reputation not only in our small country TRNC but also in Turkey, the Middle East, and Europe.

Being the first in North Cyprus, the Near East University is also amongst the top five universities offering molecular medicine education in the Republic of Turkey
With its commitment to providing the highest standards in all domains of education, the Near East University attaches great importance on producing new information through innovative scientific studies. To this end, the Near East University embraces the innovations in education and sciences and provides contribution to science and scientific applications that changing direction and specifying rapidly. With its fundamental objectives and innovative approach, the Near East University has become a brand with an inarguable reputation.

Taking into account the scientific and technological policies that developed by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), the Near East University has rolled up its sleeves to accommodate the demands of the candidates in pursuit of their advanced academic and professional careers through master’s and doctoral degree programs on Molecular Medicine.

In the academic year 2017-2018, the Near East University comes up with master's and PhD degree programs on Molecular Medicine that approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK). With this innovative step, the Near East University feels the right pride of being the first university offering these programs in North Cyprus. When taking into consideration the universities offering these programs in Turkey, the Near East University takes place amongst the top 5.

Prof. Dr. Gamze MOCAN: The Faculty Members are Well-Known Across the Globe
Prof. Dr. Gamze MOCAN, the former President of the World Association of Societies of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (WASPaLM), the Dean of NEU Faculty of Medicine, Chairperson of Medical Pathology, Medical Biology and Histology and Embryology departments, delivered information about the Molecular Medicine program, which will be implemented by the departments of Medical Pathology and Medical Biology under the roof of Health Sciences Graduate School. “Molecular medicine is a broad field that benefits from genetics, molecular and cellular biology, pathology and relevant fields to examine and comprehend disease causes and mechanisms at the molecular level, and to develop individualized molecular diagnostic and treatment techniques to correct them. The Molecular Medicine program, which will be implemented by the departments of Medical Pathology and Medical Biology under the roof of Health Sciences Graduate School, aims to accommodate the demands of the candidates in pursuit of their advanced academic and professional careers. The Health Sciences Graduate School along with the departments of Medical Pathology and Medical Biology provides the graduates with all educational, super-structural and infrastructural opportunities required to carry out scientific studies on molecular medicine, and to establish a cutting-edge career over the others. The program attaches a special focus on raising professionals equipped with comprehensive knowledge and skills, high scientific standards, intellectual thinking ability and professional ethics. Besides, our faculty members, who are equipped with a unique interdisciplinary experience on graduate education, are also well-known around the world with their studies on human genetics, molecular pathology, cancer, stem cell, developmental biology, genomics, microbial genomics, proteomics and genomics engineering. Taking into consideration the interdisciplinary structure of medicine, we have mobilized distinguished staff composed of our academics that specialized in different fields of medicine for implementing the program.

Graduates, who are willing to receive master's degree and/or PhD education on Molecular Medicine, can apply to the Near East University Graduate School of Health Sciences for the registrations for the Fall Term of the academic year 2017-2018.

Fall-term registrations for 143 Master's degree and 75 PhD Programs are ongoing
Besides, Fall-Term registrations for 218 graduate programs composed of 143 master’s and 75 doctoral degree programs that approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) are still ongoing.
