An In-Service Training was given to Secondary Education Teachers on Sustainable Environmental Education Program

Ortaöğretim Öğretmenlerine Yönelik Geliştirilen Sürdürülebilir Çevre Eğitim Programı Kapsamında Hizmetiçi Eğitim

An in-service training was realised within the framework of the “Sustainable Environmental Educational Program”, which was particularly developed to increase the secondary education teachers’ awareness on the environment. Upon the completion of the program, certificates were given to the teachers via a ceremony which was held by Dean of NEU Atatürk Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Uzunboylu, held at Near East University Grand Library Hall 2.

According to the press release by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, a 30 hours in-service training on Sustainable Environmental Education to Secondary Education Teachers was given at the helm of the doctorate student at the NEU Atatürk Faculty of Education, Nazım Kaşot. As part of this program, 40 teachers working for the Ministry of National Education, of different branches, were provided face-to-face training, training via social media, nature trips and distance education so as to increase their awareness’s on the environment and learn means of reflecting this awareness to their students.

Making a statement on the matter, stated the in-service titled as the Sustainable Environmental Education to Secondary Education Teachers was the first of its kind and that it was to shed light on future in-service trainings to be organised. He congratulated the teachers for their achievements at the program and expressed gratitude to academic members Nazım Kaşot, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökmen Dağlı and Assist. Prof. Dr. Kemal Batman for realizing the program.
