One third of the students who chose to study at a university in Cyprus have preferred to study at the Near East University!

To the 2884 new students who have chosen to study at the Near East University with their results achieved at the 2016 ÖSYM-LYS (Higher Education Placement Exam), another 591 have been added through the additional placement exam; making Near East University the most preferred university to study in Cyprus.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, 1899 students have been placed to the universities in Cyprus. Furthermore, according to the results of the additional placement examination, most students preferred to study at the Near East University.

It was also revealed that there has been a general increase in the number of students who chose to study at the universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Over and above, according to the additional placement examination, a total of 591 students have been placed to the Near East University, taking the NEU to the top of the list as the most preferred university to study in. The numbers indicate that one third of the students who chose to study at a university in Cyprus have preferred to study at the Near East University

Making a statement regarding the results, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel expressed that the fact that the Near East University has been the most preferred university to study in truly indicted the trust which the

university had gained over the years throughout its existence in the field of higher education. He added that there was a general increase in the number of students who chose to study in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and said that this would have a positive effect to the island as a whole. He particularly emphasised how pleased he was to have found out that one third of the students chose to study in Cyprus preferred to study at the Near East University; as indicated in results achieved at the additional placement examination of the ÖSYM-LYS (Higher Education Placement Exam of Turkey); and assured the students that the NEU will provide the best opportunities to fulfil their trust.

Assoc. Prof Dr. Günsel expressed that those who were now eligible to register to the Near East University were required to complete their registries by either visiting the Registry Offices of NEU in Turkey or by visiting the University itself on 6-9 September, 2016. He thanked the students for choosing to study at the Near East University and wish them the best of luck and success through their educational lives at the Near East University.
