An academic protocol was signed between between the Near East University and the European University of Lefke in order to ensure academic cooperation between two institutions.

According to a press statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, an academic cooperation protocol was signed between the Near East University and the European University of Lefke in order to carry out cooperation and joint projects in scientific, academic, and cultural issues as well as in all fields of education and art studies, organize events such as conferences, research activities, scientific and technical trips, sports activities, and joint promotional activities to promote the universities. The protocol signed by Umit Hassan, Rector of Near East University, and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, Rector of European University of Lefke.
