Academic Members of Faculty of Law of Near East University Prof. Dr. Rona Aybay and Assist. Prof. Dr. Aydın Atılgan published a book titled as “The Future of General Public Law in Turkey” based on information gathered via a workshop. It was announced that the book had been published as a Near East University publication.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, a workshop titled as “The Future of General Public Law Education in Turkey” to which more than 40 scholars from 23 different faculties of law from Turkey and from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) attended, was held in Istanbul, Turkey. This workshop was based on issues regarding content and methodology used in Department of General Public Law; taught in Faculties of Law in Turkey since 1940.

In addition to the above, it was stated that the workshop included speeches, declarations and discussions on the issue of general public law. Subsequent to the workshop, Near East University Academicians Prof. Dr. Rona Aybay, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aydın Atılgan and Research Assistant Görkem Göktuna prepared the book that was published by Near East University publications.

Furthermore, a statement was made regarding the book expressing that anyone who teaches the subject or involved in the subject could make use of the publication as it was rich in valuable information on general public law. Moreover, it was stated that it was wrong and inconvenient in terms of academic freedom to expect to follow a single path while teaching the subject. Therefore, this book was said to be resourceful in terms of content and methodology utilized while teaching General Public Law; providing insights on issues encountered in education.
