By taking into consideration the intellectual and social requirements and development of the children aged between 5 and 17, the summer term programs offered by Özay Günsel Children’s University comprise specially tailored modules allowing the children to learn, to enhance their knowledge, to develop their skills. The summer term programs of Özay Günsel Children's University, which are tailored to introduce the fun face of science and art to the students in the university environment, begin on Monday, June 22, 2020.

According to the info released by Özay Günsel Children's University, the summer term programs, which will start on Monday, June 22, 2020 and comprise novel and different modules enabling the children of different age-groups to learn while having fun, will last eight weeks and have a start under the motto “wonder, imagine, think, touch, act, try, develop, create innovation”.

Students can enroll in Özay Günsel Children's University Summer Term Programs at the Registration Office located on the ground floor of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Near East University.

Özay Günsel Children's University has meticulously designed summer term programs aiming at raising the aspiration and interest of the young generations in science and paving the way for them towards new discoveries in the future. STEAM education, which uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking abilities, constitutes the core of the summer term programs offered by Özay Günsel Children's University.

By taking into account the individual differences and age characteristics of the children, the University classifies the children into 4 groups and offers 4 distinct modules tailored to meet the requirements of each age group. In this regard, training modules titled "World" for children aged 05-08, "Sun" for children aged 09-11, "Galaxy" for children aged 12-14 and "Universe" for 15-17 age group students have been designed.

Within the scope of the modules and learning activities designed for summer term for the World, Sun, Galaxy and Universe group students, students will receive education tailored appropriately to their ages. The students will have an educational and fun summer term through various activities ranging from scientific experiments to games.

Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli: “While our children have a pleasant time in a fun environment designed and tailored for their age-groups with a contemporary education approach, we will equip them with the knowledge and skills that will make them strong and successful in the future”.

Expressing that they had created an environment in which the children grow up and develop properly, where they can learn through experiencing Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics while having fun, Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Prof.Dr. Filiz Meriçli said that they had prepared an applied Summer Term program comprising distinguished modules meticulously tailored for different age-groups.

Reminding that people had stayed home for a long time within the frame of "stay home, stay safe" measure taken against the novel coronavirus outbreak that spread all across the world, Professor Doctor Filiz Meriçli underlines that they put the health of children forefront and in order to protect the health of children, they will implement the summer term programs by keeping strict to the measures and applying hygiene rules meticulously.

Addressing the children, Prof. Dr. Meriçli expressed her views: "We hope that you have read lots of books and accumulated good memories in this long process that you have been away from your school, your friends and us. Now, being in line with the rules, we are coming together again. Your health is of great importance for your families and all of us. Our coordinators, assistant teachers, will strictly apply the protection measures against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. We will transport you with disinfected school shuttle buses, disposable paper plates and glasses will be used, activities will be carried out in disinfected settings, washing hands with soap and other similar hygiene rules will be applied meticulously”.

Expressing that as Özay Günsel Children's University, they had prepared a summer term program in which cheerful games, experiments, trips and so many other colorful amusing activities can be carried out by keeping the social distance, Professor Doctor Meriçli went on her remarks: "We are waiting all of you to the fun meeting with science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics, where we will apply all measures against corona virus together".

Highlighting the crucial role of meticulously designed and tailored programs in raising children's aspiration in science and knowledge, developing their abilities to conduct research in their fields of interest, and direct their abilities properly, Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli delivered further information: “You will start the day with morning sports every weekday, you will do experiments in the laboratories of the faculties of the Near East University, learn what you wonder, and with new information you learn, you will create the games and products you dream of .You will travel to the history via archeology and to the future via robots. You will try aircraft piloting and ship mastering at the University of Kyrenia and build your own model plane. ”

Stating that they are aware of the fact that that families have concerns regarding possible new coronavirus outbreak due to the reopening of the doors following July 1, 2020, Professor Meriçli underlines that as Özay Günsel Children’s University, they will keep strict to all hygiene rules at world standards and they will meticulously apply all measures required to protect the health of children. "In this regard, we have employed specialized disinfectant and hygiene teams. In this new order, we will also have taught our children to adopt it as a lifestyle how to protect their own health and those around them".
