Women’s Day Gift of Award-Winning Artists from the Turkish World and Near East Artists

Within the Scope of March 8, International Women’s Day Events, the Mixed Exhibition titled as “Woman” and consisting of the works of 60 award-winning artists, is to be opened by Girne MP Izlem Gürçağ Altuğra ..

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the mixed exhibition titled as “Woman” consisting of works by 60 artists awarded by TRNC, Near East University and Turkish World, organized within the scope of 8th March International Women’s Day events, is to be opened on Friday, March 06, 2020, at 08:30 at the exhibition hall of the Near East University Hospital by Kyrenia Member of Parliament İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra.

The mixed exhibition on women will feature the works of 60 award-winning artists
It was announced that the exhibition is curated by Vice Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and Head of Günsel Museum Assoc Prof Dr Erdoğan Ergün. In the group exhibition titled as “Woman”, there will be 90 artwork composed of works such as paintings, sculptures, ceramic, print paintings and photographs prepared by 60 different award-winning artists from TRNC, Near East University and the Turkic World.

Making a statement regarding the matter, exhibition curator Assoc Prof Dr Erdoğan Ergün said:
“Mixed exhibitions have the feature of bringing together artists working in different styles and techniques. The works in these exhibitions also give important ideas on the subject and period. With the exhibition titled “Woman” to be opened within the scope of 8 March International Women’s Day Events, we will have the opportunity to observe the works of art teachers from our country, the Turkic World and the Near East University, that is, those who produce with their artist and educator identities.”

In addition to academic members of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Near East University, and including Faculty Members of the Faculty of Communication, Near East College and Primary School teachers, and award-winning artists from the Turkish World, this exhibition also stands out as the 285th exhibition especially prepared for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.
