
‘Educational Buildings’ theme was discussed with experienced Interior Architect Şölen Üstüner at the Near East University Faculty of Architecture. The seminar offered students the opportunity to develop creative solutions in this field and to better understand the design processes of modern educational buildings. Sharing her knowledge and experiences with the students, Interior Architect Şölen Üstüner shared the design and implementation processes of her own projects with the students and provided important information on educational buildings.
The seminar, consisting of two sessions, was held at the Near East University Faculty of Architecture. In the seminar, it was emphasized that the design processes of educational buildings and that these structures should be handled in a user-oriented and functional manner. Interior Architect Şölen Üstüner stated that elements such as ergonomics, flexibility and sustainability are increasingly gaining importance in modern educational buildings and inspired the participants to develop creative and innovative solutions in this direction.
The event, which attracted great interest from students, created a productive platform where current approaches in the fields of architecture and interior architecture were discussed. Near East University Faculty of Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Zihni Turkan presented a certificate of appreciation to Şölen Üstüner at the end of the seminar, and participation certificates were also given to the students who participated.

Interior Architect Şölen Üstüner, who addresses many elements from the inside of the building to the garden walls in the design or renovation process of educational structures such as schools and education centers, emphasized that user needs and functionality should be kept at the forefront. Üstüner, making a presentation by giving examples from the educational centers she designed in the TRNC, drew attention to the importance of sustainability and ergonomics at every stage of the design. Many details were discussed, from the age group the educational structure appeals to, its purpose of use and content, color harmony and furniture modeling.
Üstüner, in her presentation said “In both commercial and residential projects, getting to know people in a short time and obtaining important clues about their hobbies or habits can make the design you make easier in every field.” and drew attention to the fact that user-oriented touches can enrich the design.
