Violinist, educator and artist Dr. Ilias Abdullin, who is a lecturer at the Department of Music Education of Near East University, is preparing to celebrate his 50th year in art with a magnificent concert. The “Dr. Ilias Abdullin 50th Pride Year in Art Benefis Concert” will bring together distinguished artists from eight different countries.
Dr. Ilias Abdullin, who touched many hearts with his music throughout his half-century of artistic life, built bridges between cultures with his melodies that transcended borders. Celebrating his 50th year in art, Dr. Ilias Abdullin will bring together artists from many countries of the world in Northern Cyprus. Famous names from Azerbaijan, Japan, Crimea, TRNC, Nigeria, Russia, Tatarstan and Turkey will honor Dr. Ilias Abdullin’s rich musical heritage on stage. The concert, which will be like a parade of stars, will be held free of charge and open to everyone.

Artists from different countries will unite with the universal language of music and create an unforgettable performance on stage. In the concert, Azerbaijan State Academic Music Theater Director Aligismet Lalaev, Musical Theater Actors Ulviya Eliyeva and Samedzade Hsiev will also attend. Koichi Yashida, who has achieved significant success in music as well as his vocal career in Japan, jazz guitarist Enver Izmaylov from Crimea, Annie Mo from Nigeria and Azerbaijani ballet artist Ilona Sementsova will perform. Also at the event; Liliya Bukeeva from Tatarstan and Peter Mekayev from Moscow will impress with their performances. Dr. Ilias Abdullin’s students living in the TRNC, Edgar Soselia and Amir Hijazi will also take the stage.
Who is Dr. Ilias Abdullin?
Born in Azerbaijan in 1954, Dr. Ilias Abdullin began music by taking violin lessons at the age of 7. Dr. Abdullin, who graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatory, worked as a concertmaster and chamber orchestra conductor in the Musical Theater Orchestra for a long time. The artist, who taught violin at the Fine Arts High School in Tatarstan, gave many successful concerts. Dr. Ilias Abdullin, who settled in the TRNC in 2002, began working as a lecturer at the Fine Arts Education Department by giving violin lessons at the Music Teaching Department of the Near East University. Dr. Abdullin also coordinates the faculty’s cultural activities.
Dr. Ilias Abdullin, who started performing with the Expromte Trio in 2008, made an album called ‘We Met in Cyprus’, which included ethnic music of the Turkish people, in 2015. Dr. Abdullin, who made a solo album called ‘Wandering’, consisting of classical works by composers from different countries and eras in 2016, recorded ‘Feelings’, a solo album consisting of popular violin compositions, in 2017.
