Students at the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine get ready for their profession by applying their theoretical knowledge to practice at the Near East University Animal Hospital, Innovative Food Production Center, and Agri-Vet Food Analysis Laboratory.
In veterinary education, just as in medicine and other health branches, practical opportunities are vital in training qualified specialists. The Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine provides its students with vast opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge directly in the field with the Near East University Animal Hospital, Innovative Food Production Center, and Agri-Vet Food Analysis Laboratory.
The Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine also offers practical opportunities in a variety of specialized laboratories, including the Food Hygiene and Technology Laboratory, the Animal Nutrition and Feed Technology Laboratory, the Microbiology Laboratory, the Molecular Biology and Genetics Laboratory, the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory, the Pathology and Histology Laboratory, and the Diagnostic Laboratory.
Training integrated with the Animal Hospital…
The Near East University Animal Hospital, located on the university campus, offers strong practical training opportunities for future veterinarians. As the first and only fully equipped animal hospital in the TRNC, the Near East University Animal Hospital offers services in a wide range of areas, including surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, imaging, orthopedics, and ophthalmology. Students gain hands-on experience in the clinical setting, while the 24/7 hospital also contributes to animal health in the region.
The Agri-Vet Food Analysis Laboratory at Near East University contributes to public health by conducting microbiological analyses on many food groups, especially meat and dairy products, and offers students the opportunity to observe all processes from production to consumption.
