The Student Club of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Near East University held a discussion on “Global Governance” among the students of the Faculty.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the Discussion was organised by the Student Club of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Near East University. This provided the students the opportunity to discuss the notion of ‘global governance’ as it is a contemporary issue which has caused many discussions on the matter world-wide.

The students discussed the issue in two groups…
The discussion included issues related to the role of the United Nations (UN) in global politics; the overall functionality of international organisations; economic growth; commerce and under-development and under-development. Furthermore, there were two groups of students from Department of International Relations; Political Science; Business Administration; and Banking and Finance who brought multiple perspectives to the discussions being held. The first group of students discussed global governance from a neo-liberalism stance (a modified form of liberalism tending to favour free-market capitalism); whereas the second group of students discussed the issue with a post-modern approach to the matter.

The Neo-liberal team was represented by Münis Ibodov and Osuwa Emmanuel Uche. On the other hand, the second group consisted of İbrahim Umar and Mariya Yakobuchuk who brought a post-modern approach to global governance.
